Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health announced on Sunday that 16 deaths 714 new cases of the coronavirus and 1952 recoveries were recorded during the last 24 hours.
Kailah confirmed in the daily epidemiological report of coronavirus that 7 deaths were recorded in the West Bank: Tulkarem 1 Nablus 3 Jenin 2 and al-Khalil 1 in addition to 9 deaths in the Gaza Strip.
She indicated that the new infections were distributed as follows: Tulkarem 41 Nablus 153 Salfit 17 Tubas 14 Jenin 57 Qalqilya 8 Bethlehem 26 Jerusalem suburbs 4 al-Khalil 30 Ramallah and Al-Bireh 55 Jericho and Al-Aghwar 3 and the Gaza Strip 305.
The new recovery cases were recorded according to the following: Tulkarem 115 Nablus 74 Salfit 16 Tubas 33 Jenin 70 Qalqilya 66 Bethlehem 14 Jerusalem suburbs 80 al-Khalil 77 Ramallah and Al-Bireh 60 Jericho and Al-Aghwar 12 and the Gaza Strip 1335 according to the minister.
Kailah said that the recovery rate of the coronavirus reached 91.0 percent while the rate of active infections reached 7.9 percent and the death rate was 1.1% of all infections.
She pointed out that there are 151 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 44 who have been placed on ventilators.
Regarding the vaccination campaign the minister noted that the total number of people who received the corona vaccine in the West Bank and Gaza Strip reached 170109 including 34880 who received the two doses of the vaccine.
