Casualties in clashes during weekly rallies of West Bank

Friday 23-April-2021

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) quelled on Friday the peaceful weekly marches of Kafr Qaddum and Beit Dajan and several Palestinians suffered breathing difficulties.

Local sources reported that IOF attacked the participants in the march in Kafr Qaddum and fired tear gas and sound bombs at them. Several citizens suffered breathing problems.

The march started after Friday prayer from the Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque with the participation of hundreds of townspeople who demanded escalation of popular resistance to achieve freedom and independence.

Kafr Qaddum witnesses a weekly march against settlements and against the closure of the village’s main street which has been closed for more than 18 years.

Meanwhile local sources said that IOF suppressed the weekly march in the Beit Dajan village and clashes erupted.

The IOF soldiers fired rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at the marchers and a number of Palestinians suffered breathing difficulties.

The People’s Committee for Land Defense in Beit Dajan called on residents to mobilize and participate in the weekly march to reject settlements.

The eastern region of Beit Dajan has been witnessing continuous confrontations on Fridays for several months as the village land is threatened with confiscation by the Israeli occupation.
