Israeli occupation forces (IOF) quelled several marches in various areas of the West Bank on Friday. Dozens of Palestinians were injured.
Ahmed Samara the head of the Safa village council in eastern Ramallah said that the child Ahmed Fellana 16 was hit by live bullets fired by the IOF in the Khirbet area of the village.
Samara added that the child was injured in one leg and the IOF took the child by ambulance to Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem. The Palestine Red Crescent Society was informed that the child’s condition is serious.
The IOF surpassed the weekly Kafr Qaddum march against settlements and against closure of the village’s main street which has been closed for more than 18 years.
Murad Shteiwi the coordinator of the popular resistance in Kafr Qaddum said that a 10-year-old boy was hit with a sponge bullet in his chest.
The child was taken to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus where his condition was described as stable. Other civilians suffered breathing problems and they were treated in the field.
Meanwhile the IOF soldiers attacked a march condemning the establishment of a new settlement outpost in the Al-Shorfa mountain area in Deir Jarir village east of Ramallah.
Eyewitness said that IOF fired tear gas canisters at the citizens. Several citizens suffered breathing difficulties.
The IOF soldiers intercepted the vehicle of the Palestinian news agency WAFA while the crew was in the area to cover the attacks. They checked their ID cards before allowing them to leave.
Moreover clashes erupted between local youths the IOF during an anti-settlement march in Beit Dajan town east of Nablus.
Local sources reported that dozens of citizens participated in a march that began after Friday prayer in front of the Great Mosque in Beit Dajan towards the settlement outpost east of the town.
The IOF fired rubber-coated metal bullets stun grenades and tear gas canisters at the marchers. Many Palestinians suffered breathing problems.
Ghassan Daghlas the official in charge of the settlement file in Nablus underlined that the weekly marches in Beit Dajan continue for the 20th consecutive week stressing the need to expand activities to confront the occupation and its settlement plans.
