Israeli authorities detained a Palestinian man from the Negev for allegedly spying for Hamas’s armed wing the Qassam Brigades.
The Hebrew TV Channel 12 said that the Israeli Military Censor had allowed the publication of the news on Friday.
It identified the arrestee as 43-year-old Mohammed Abu Azra adding that he used to go to the Gaza Strip and return to his place of residence in southern Tel Aviv on regular basis.
It pointed out that Mohammed’s father is a Bedouin and his mother is from the Gaza Strip adding that he is married to a young woman from Gaza.
Channel 12 claimed that he was recruited by the Qassam Brigades over one and a half years ago and maintained secret contacts with the armed wing supplying it with information on the positions of the air defense system “Iron Dome”.
