Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) seized on Sunday 19 dunums of the lands of Azzun Atma village south of Qalqilya.
Muhammad Abu Al-Sheikh the official in charge of the settlement file in Qalqilya said that the IOA issued a military order to confiscate about 19 dunums to the west of the village to build 66 new settlement units for the Oranit settlement.
The IOA had confiscated over half of the Azzun town area which is estimated at 25000 dunums.
The town extends westward into the 1948 occupied lands reaching an area called the Azzun Forest which the occupation called Raanana.
Azzun is considered a commercial center serving more than 30000 inhabitants and residents of neighboring villages.
Azzun road serves as a transportation station for all people of the neighboring villages who travel on it. This extends the effects of the repeated attacks by the occupation to all residents of neighboring villages.
Three Jewish settlements were established on Azzun’s lands and the surrounding villages.
