The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the management of Instagram blocked its account which had over 170000 followers within a policy targeting the Palestinian content describing the step as “sudden and unjustified.”
PIC affirmed that Instagram which is an affiliate of the Facebook company disabled its news page despite its commitment to the stated regulations expressing its belief that the measure reflected the general prejudice against the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people’s right to resist the Israeli occupation which it described as “a legitimate right enshrined in the international law.”
PIC called on the management of Instagram to backtrack on such arbitrary action and stop fighting the Palestinian content on its social networking service pointing out that it would make efforts to restore the page.
