A horde of extremist Jewish settlers on Saturday morning physically assaulted Palestinian farmers in Masafer Yatta area south of al-Khalil city in the occupied West Bank.
Local official Rateb al-Jabour said that a number of settlers under military protection beat and injured several local farmers from the family of al-Nawaj’ah near the village of Umm Lakhous.
He added that the settlers were trying to expel the farmers from the area and prevent them from working their swaths of agricultural land.
Jabour appealed to international human rights groups to intervene and work on putting an end to such practices against Palestinian farmers and their property in the West Bank.
