A Jewish settler driving at high speed ran over a Palestinian young man on Monday and injured him in Khirbet al-Qanoub area south of Sa’ir town in the north of al-Khalil province.
According to local and medical sources 32-year-old Subhi Shalaldeh suffered injuries and bruises in different areas of his body after a settler rammed his car into him.
A Red Crescent ambulance crew transferred the wounded citizen to al-Khalil Hospital after providing him with first aid.
According to human rights groups incidents of terrorism and violence by extremist Jewish settlers against Palestinians and their property are a daily occurrence throughout the West Bank.
However Israeli law enforcement authorities exhibit extreme incompetence in addressing such widespread occurrence of settlers’ crimes.
The vast majority of investigation files regarding harm to Palestinians and their property are closed due to deliberate police failure to investigate properly. The deficiencies and flaws in the work of the Israeli police are clearly noticed at every stage of an investigation when the victim is a Palestinian citizen.
