Palestine; my cause

Sunday 20-December-2020

The Palestinian Forum in Britain concluded late on Saturday evening activities (Palestine is my cause) with the participation of Moroccan artist Rashid Ghulam Palestinian artist Omar Bedir Secretary-General of the Emirati association for resisting Normalization Ahmed Al Shaiba Al Nuaimi and was presented by journalist Adnan Hmidan.

The evening was opened by the President of the Palestinian Forum in Britain Dr Hafez Al-Karmi saying “Palestine is my cause as a Palestinian Arab Muslim and a human who hates injustice as it represents the oppressed cries in the face of the oppressor and this normalization has its scope only at the political level and not a reflection of what the people want; in fact they always cheer for Palestine and its just cause. The main battle now is the battle of awareness and our role is to mobilize and develop popular awareness against normalization and the normalizers”. Al-Karmi presented the annual Palestine Prize which he presents in Britain to both Moroccan artist Rachid Ghulam and the Emirati League for Resistance against Normalization.

Rashid Ghulam praised this gesture stressing that standing up for Palestine is a duty and there was no need to praise him for simply doing what is right and it is an honor for everyone who does it because it is a matter of belief and religion whilst Al-Nuaimi stressed in his speech on behalf of the Emirati League for Resisting Normalization that the Emirati people stand against normalization and that what appears on the screens does not represent the conscience of the Emirati people and their solidarity with Palestine.

From the town of Kafr Qasim the young Palestinian artist 17-year-old Muhammad Badir spoke about his new artistic production that embodies the memory of the massacre and connects Palestinian youth to their cause and cited the story of his father’s uncle who had his foot amputated after he was forced to hid for two days while bleeding over a tree in the town.

In conclusion hundreds of attendees interacted electronically with a family competition on the Palestinian issue presented by Adnan Hmidan with a variety of questions about the memory of the Balfour Declaration. It ended with a live communication with the 18-year-old winner Fida Al-Owaisi who came in the first place; Fida expressed her delight with the competition.

Doaa Al-Nemas was one of the participants in the evening said “The competition was very interesting and this was the first time I and my friends participate in such a competition thank you for your efforts that connect us to the Palestinian cause all of my friends outside Britain had a lot of fun participating despite not winning the competition”
