Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Al Thani on Monday reiterated his country’s position in support of the Palestinian people and their national cause and highlighted the importance of the Palestinian unity.
Sheikh Tamim made the remarks on his Twitter page following his meeting with Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas at the end of his visit to Doha which started on Sunday.
“I assured president Abu Mazen during our meeting today that Qatar would continue to support the Palestinian people their just cause and the efforts to achieve peace on the basis of the Arab Initiative the two-state solution and the international resolutions” the Qatari Emir said.
“I also underlined the importance of the Palestinian unity” he added.
Abbas for his part briefed the Emir on the latest developments on the Palestinian cause and expressed his thanks to Qatar for its ongoing support for the Palestinian people according to Qatar News Agency.
