The Ministry of Health in Ramallah announced on Saturday that it had recorded 15 deaths and 1422 new cases of coronavirus after conducting 5307 examinations during the past 24 hours.
The death cases were distributed geographically to 10 deaths in the occupied West Bank and 5 deaths in the Gaza Strip.
The ministry stated that 1010 cases of corona have recovered 588 of them are in the occupied West Bank and 422 are in the Gaza Strip.
The new infections were distributed geographically to 838 cases in the occupied West Bank and 584 in the Gaza Strip.
Mai Al-Kailah the Palestinian Minister of Health said that the recovery rate of coronavirus reached 76.4 percent while the rate of active infections reached 22.8 percent and the death rate was 0.8% of all infections.
Kailah pointed out that there are 69 critically ill patients who have been admitted to intensive care units including 20 who have been placed on ventilators.
Kamal Al-Shakhra the spokesman for the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that a meeting will be held for the Supreme Emergency Committee on Sunday to assess the epidemiological situation and take some possible measures including the need to end the school year or any other necessary measures.
Shakhra said in an interview with Voice of Palestine radio channel on Saturday morning that the ministry is awaiting the reports that will be submitted by the medical staff by the end of this day as they will be submitted to the Supreme Emergency Committee to determine the fate of the educational process.
He explained that a meeting was held between the Ministries of Health and Education in which all aspects were studied and the decisions that could be taken. Also there were recommendations after infections were recorded among the teaching staff and students and recommendations would be submitted to the Council of Ministers on Sunday.
