The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced the US announcement that products from the illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank will be labeled “Made in Israel.”
In a press release on Saturday Hamas described the new US move as “another act of aggression against the Palestinian people” and “a blatant violation of international law” warning that it would give the occupation state the green light to annex the remaining Palestinian areas.
The Movement also expressed deep concern over what came in the US announcement about regarding Gaza and the West Bank as “areas politically and administratively separate” stressing that such position vindicated further the role of the US administration in perpetuating the Palestinian division in order to serve the occupation’s expansionist agendas.
“The dangerous decisions that have been taken by this administration in haste before leaving [the White House] reflects its extremism and its intent to entrench irrevocable faits accomplis” the Palestinian group underlined.
It called on the incoming US administration “to revoke all the arbitrary decisions that were taken in violation of the international law by the Trump administration in order to serve Israel and its expansionist project and torpedo any chance for a just and comprehensive solution to the conflict.”
Recently outgoing US secretary of state Mike Pompeo announced a number of decisions in favor of Israel including the labeling of goods made in illegal Jewish settlements built on the 1967 occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank as “Made in Israel.”
