Al-Aqsa preacher champions national reconciliation

Preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Muhammad Hussein called on all Palestinian factions to speed up the achievement of national reconciliation end the division and implement what was agreed upon during the meeting of Secretaries-General and conduct elections.

Sheikh Hussein during the Friday Khutba (sermon) stressed the need to implement reconciliation agreements on the ground and not be satisfied with statements to face the challenges and ambitions that threaten the Palestinian cause.

The preacher of Al-Aqsa warned of the seriousness of the current stage and the increase of Israeli violations in Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem whether by demolition stealing land or Judaizing holy sites.

The Sheikh called on the Palestinian people to defend Al-Aqsa and adhere to the covenant of martyrs and prisoners.

Sheikh Hussein pointed out that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is the main target of the occupation and its settlers.

Jerusalemite sources reported that the Israeli police imposed strict measures at the gates of the Old City in Jerusalem detained dozens of worshipers and prevented people under fifty years from entering Al-Aqsa.

The Israeli police also set up a checkpoint in front of the Damascus Gate and checked the ID cards of the people coming to the Old City to perform Friday prayer.

The al-Asbat Gate area witnessed similar procedures and detention of dozens of citizens to discourage them from their decision to enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Jerusalemite activist Muhammad Samrin said that the Israeli police are using the corona pandemic as a pretext to implement their Judaization policies against Al-Aqsa Mosque. He stressed the importance of intensifying the presence of worshipers to protect it from the occupation.

The occupation forces seek to impose a fait accompli on the residents of the West Bank by cutting off their communication with Al-Aqsa Mosque and preventing them from accessing it.

Jerusalemites are sparing no effort to stand in the way of the Israeli occupation’s conspiracies despite all the arrests and harassment they are exposed to.

Jerusalem is witnessing an escalation in settler incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the occupation forces and amidst restrictions on Palestinian citizens wishing to access
the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli occupation targets Jerusalemites with arrests deportation orders and fines with the aim of dissuading them from frequenting the Al-Aqsa Mosque and leaving it an easy prey for Israeli settlers.
