Israeli army to carry out demolitions displace families in al-Khalil

Wednesday 4-November-2020

The Israeli occupation army on Tuesday delivered demolition orders against four tents and a stop-work order against one house in al-Buwaib area in Yatta town south of al-Khalil.

According to local sources the Israeli army notified the family of al-Da’ajneh of its intent to remove four tents they use as makeshift homes and handed another citizen a notice ordering him to stop building his house.

Two brothers from the same area also received demolition ultimatums against storerooms.

In another incident the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on the same day displaced 11 Bedouin families after demolishing dozens of crude homes and structures in Khirbet Humsa hamlet in the northern Jordan Valley.

For decades Israel has pursued a policy of forced eviction and demolition of homes of Palestinians living under occupation in the Palestinian territories and the homes of Arabs in Israel.

Every year the scale of the destruction carried out by the Israeli occupation authority in the West Bank and Jerusalem escalates and reaches an unprecedented level.

The victims are often amongst the poorest and most disadvantaged in the occupied Palestinian areas. Most of the houses demolished by the Israeli army in the West Bank and Jerusalem were the homes of refugee families who were expelled by Israeli forces or who fled in the war that followed the creation of Israel in 1948.
