IOA displaces family after razing its home in Sur Baher town

Wednesday 28-October-2020

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Wednesday displaced a Jerusalemite family after demolishing its two-story house in Sur Baher town southeast of Jerusalem.

According to local sources Israeli bulldozers escorted by municipal crews and police forces knocked down a residential building belonging to the family of Mohamed Tarshan in the town.

The police forced the family to evacuate the building which is composed of stores and one apartment before demolishing it.

As always the IOA justified the measure by claiming that the house had been built with no license.

The Jerusalemites have no choice but to build without licenses because there are no structural maps that respond to the natural increase in their numbers and for that reason they are denied house permits.

The IOA also imposes building restrictions on the Palestinian natives in Jerusalem and makes it hard for them to obtain construction licenses.

Israel’s systematic demolition of Palestinian homes in Occupied Jerusalem is believed to be aimed at psychologically destroying the Jerusalemite families in an attempt to force them to move from the holy city.
