The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas announced that a leading delegation had left the Gaza Strip en route to Cairo on Sunday to join the Movement’s delegation headed by Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri.
Fawzi Barhoum a Hamas spokesperson stated in a statement that the delegation including members of the political bureau Khalil Al-Hayya and Rouhi Mushtaha will join the Movement’s leadership delegation headed by Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri deputy head of the political bureau with the participation of politburo member Izzat Al-Resheq.
Barhoum explained that this visit plans to discuss with Egyptian officials ways to strengthen bilateral relations topics of common interest and the progress of Palestinian reconciliation and national unity.
They will also discuss the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and Egypt’s role in alleviating the humanitarian crisis that the Gaza Strip is going through due to the Israeli blockade along with political developments in the region.
The head of the Hamas Movement Ismail Haneyya revealed in a statement Sunday morning that his Movement decided to send a delegation from its leadership to Cairo in a visit to confirm the fraternal relations with Egypt.
He explained that the visit would touch on several issues of common interest especially the path of reconciliation and national unity in addition to the situation in the Gaza Strip on the humanitarian level and regional developments in general.
