IOF closes crossings of Beit Iksa and Qalandiya

Sunday 25-October-2020

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Saturday evening shut down the military crossings of Beit Iksa and Qalandiya in northern Jerusalem and barred the movement of Palestinian vehicles and citizens through them.

According to eyewitnesses a heavy build-up of traffic occurred on both sides of the roads at the crossings after the IOF closed them.

After closing the crossings the IOF stormed the nearby town of al-Ram where they closed its main entrance and embarked on chasing local youths and raiding homes.

In an earlier incident on the same day Palestinian youths attacked the crossing of Qalandiya with homemade bombs but the Hebrew media claimed the bombs did not explode.

Young men also fired a volley of firecrackers at an IOF watchtower at the main entrance to al-Arroub refugee camp in northern al-Khalil.

Al-Arroub camp has been under tight siege by the IOF for eight days.
