Extremist Jewish settlers on Saturday attacked Palestinian shepherds in the east of Yatta in the occupied West Bank and deployed two tents on land in the village of Birin east of al-Khalil.
Local official Rateb al-Jabour said that a group of settlers escorted by soldiers chased local shepherds verbally attacked them and prevented them from grazing their cattle in a-Tha’lah area of Yatta.
Jabour added that settlers also pitched two tents on a piece of land in Birin village east of al-Khalil as part of their repeated attempts to seize Palestinian lands in the area.
Such practices by settlers and soldiers are aimed at forcing the local residents across the West Bank to leave their homes in order to carry settlement expansion projects.
