The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Monday approved the construction of hundreds of housing units for Jewish settlers in the illegal settlement of Tzur Hadassah in western Bethlehem.
According to the Hebrew media 500 housing units were okayed for construction in the settlement of Tzur Hadassah (built on lands belonging to Palestinians from Wadi Fukin village).
The IOA has been targeting Bethlehem with plans to expand its illegal settlements around the city since the occupation of Palestine.
The latest of such plans was the rezoning of Arab et-Ta’amira village in order to annex more of its land to Jewish settlements.
