Two children detained in Jerusalem

Sunday 4-October-2020

The Israeli police arrested two children from Occupied Jerusalem and a young man from Ramallah on Sunday evening.

Local sources reported that the Israeli police arrested two children from the Shu’fat refugee camp while they were near the Apartheid Wall which separates the camp from Jerusalem City.

Meanwhile Tamer Al-Shawamrah was arrested from Umm Al-Sharayet in Ramallah while he was passing through the Israeli Container checkpoint.

The Shu’fat camp is exposed to the Israeli police’s continuous incursions usually in big numbers in an attempt to terrorize the camp’s residents and impose repeated penalties and arrests in addition to carrying out demolitions of citizens’ homes and facilities.

The Shu’fat camp or Anata is one of the camps that was established on an area of approximately 200 dunums between the villages of Anata and Shu’fat within the boundaries of Jerusalem.

The Shu’fat camp suffers from several problems such as the high population density poor infrastructure and basic services in addition to the Apartheid Wall which has blocked roads and hindered the work of many Palestinian inhabitants.
