The Israeli occupation police on Sunday closed all the entrances to Issawiya district and al-Thawri neighborhood in east Jerusalem with concrete blocks at the pretext of securing the city for Jewish celebrations.
According to local sources Israeli police forces imposed tight movement restrictions on Palestinian citizens throughout the holy city and intensified the presence of their forces at the Aqsa Mosque’s al-Asbat Gate where they obstructed Muslim worshipers’ entry to their holy site.
They also restricted the movement of Palestinian vehicles and passengers at the Za’eim crossing in east Jerusalem.
Such Israeli road closures will continue to take place until 7:00 pm on Monday according to Jerusalemite sources.
