The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday demolished an agricultural retaining wall in Ni’lin town west of Ramallah and other fences in Bethlehem.
Ni’lin mayor Emad al-Khawaja said that Israeli troops stormed his town in the morning and embarked on knocking down a retaining wall around a swath of agricultural land belonging to a local resident.
The landowner Hussein al-Khawaja said that the IOF had informed him about one month ago of intent to raze the wall at the pretext of its location near the separation wall adding that the IOF did not give him more time to complete the appellate procedures against the measure.
In Bethlehem the IOF demolished on the same day several agricultural walls around cultivated plots of land in Battir village.
Battir mayor Tayseer Qattoush said that the IOF demolished the walls with no prior notice and caused widespread damage to crops.
