IOF shoots at farmers east of Khan Younis

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at farmers in the eastern Khan Younis province in the southern Gaza Strip on Monday but no casualties were reported.

Media sources reported that IOF soldiers fired at a number of farmers and citizens who were moving along the border road known as Jaker east of Abu Taima neighborhood east of t Abasan town and Al-Farahin neighborhood east of Abasan Al-Kabeerah.

The sources indicated that a number of IOF snipers had climbed up earthen berms inside the fence in conjunction with the movement of military jeeps and a bulldozer in the place.

The farmers were forced to leave the area fearing for their lives.

Farmers in the border areas are routinely attacked by IOF in the east and north of the besieged Gaza Strip.

GAZA (PIC)– Israeli occupation forces (IOF) shot at Palestinian farmers east of the town of al-Qarara north of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip on Saturday morning with no injuries reported.

The PIC correspondent reported that the eastern areas of the city of Khan Younis had witnessed heavy firing by the IOF from the military watchtowers adjacent to the citizens’ farms.

The Israeli soldiers manning military watchtowers target farmers birds’ hunters shepherds and whoever tries to approach the border.

Such practices fall in line with other many violations including targeting fishermen in the Sea of Gaza of the calm agreed upon after the war on the coastal enclave in the summer of 2014.
