Violent clashes broke out on Saturday evening between Palestinian youths and the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at the northern entrance to Qalqilya city in the West Bank.
According to eyewitnesses dozens of local youths rallied near an IOF checkpoint at the northern entrance to Qalqilya and started to hurl stones at the soldiers there.
As the skirmishes escalated the IOF sent reinforcements to the area and embarked on firing more stun and tear gas grenades on the young men.
Some tear gas and stun canisters reportedly landed near the zoo and inside yards of many houses leading some citizens to suffer from their exposure to fumes.
Such skirmishes repeatedly happen in Qalqilya city which is encircled by IOF checkpoints and settler roads and also isolated from the 1948 occupied lands with a separation wall.
