Thousands of dunums ablaze during Israeli army drills in Jordan Valley

Wednesday 3-June-2020

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday burned vast tracts of agricultural and pastoral land during live fire exercises in the Jordan Valley north of the West Bank.

According to local sources about 180 dunums of land planted with wheat barley and other crops and about 8200 dunums of pastures in and around the hamlets of Hamsa al-Baqi’ah and Hamsa al-Farsha were set alight during Israeli army training in the area.

The IOF used live ammunition during the drills with no regard for the safety of the local residents and their property in the area.

The IOF systematically displace the local residents living in pastoral and agricultural areas in the Jordan Valley before conducting military drills near their homes.
