Lebanese minister of health Hamad Hasan on Sunday slammed the international organizations for their procrastination in making a serious action to combat the coronavirus pandemic and protect Palestinian refugees.
In an interview with al-Manar TV Hasan called on the responsible international organizations to set a field plan to deal with the coronavirus crisis and help Palestinian refugees including those coming from Syria before refugee camps turn into a “time bomb”.
“We at the Ministry of Health treat any refugee or displaced person the same way we treat Lebanese citizens. It is a moral humanitarian and medical duty” he said “But this does not exempt the international organizations from their duties.”
Hasan pointed out that UNRWA has not yet provided any aid to Palestinian refugees in Lebanon or to Palestinian refugees from Syria nor has it developed any relief plan. Statements are all that have been offered he added.
