Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Mustafa al-Barghouthi has condemned the policy of health neglect and racial discrimination being pursued by the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) against the Palestinians in Jerusalem and Area C of the West Bank describing it as “dangerous and inhuman.”
In press remarks on Thursday Barghouthi warned that such policy is “dangerous and inhuman” threatening to widely spread coronavirus in Jerusalem and Area C — which comprises 62 percent of the occupied West Bank.
“Instead of these authorities fulfilling their duty as an occupying power they are stepping up their incursions into Palestinian cities towns and neighborhoods intensifying their arrests and suppressing the health support committees that were formed by Palestinians to confront the coronavirus epidemic” he said.
Barghouthi also accused the IOA of not conducting coronavirus tests for Palestinian workmen working in affected factories and facilities saying such negligence is responsible for 73 percent of the epidemic spread in the West Bank.
