The Israeli occupation police on Friday arrested five Palestinian citizens from and near the Aqsa Mosque with no reason.
The detainees were identified as Yousef al-Faqih Suhaib Taha Yaqoub Salama Ibrahim Hab Ruman and Fadel Abu Asnaineh. All of them were taken to the Qishleh police station for interrogation.
Israeli police officers also in the afternoon removed and confiscated decorations signs and placards that had been put up on some walls and doors of the Aqsa Mosque’s Bab al-Rahma prayer building to mark the first anniversary of its reopening by the Islamic Awqaf Authority in Jerusalem.
Earlier police officers also assaulted at dawn a number of Palestinian worshipers including women at the Hitta Gate area near the Mosque and confiscated candies and coffee from them.
Police forces also stormed the Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards and embarked on chasing and expelling Palestinian worshipers from the Islamic holy site.
