Jordanian artist Omar Al-Abdallat concluded the activities of the Palestine 2020 Festival in London organized by the Palestinian Forum in Britain and a number of their partners in solidarity with the Palestinian rights.
In a crowd of about a thousand people who sang together the audience interacted with it and Al-Abdalat mentioned in his short speech among his songs that the beauty of the gathering was the presence of people for Palestine despite the weather conditions.
In turn Dr. Hafez Al-Karmi head of the Palestinian Forum in Britain welcomed the presence of Omar Al-Abdullat for the first time to London and his interaction for Palestine affirming the rejection of the deal of the century and working together to revive and preserve the heritage of Palestine.
The matter was referred to by Kamel Hawash head of the campaign of solidarity with Palestine in Britain which shows some aspects of the occupation stealing the heritage of Palestine and even naming its cities and streets with pictures showing how Palestine was populated and the evidence of its civilization and its progress was present before the occupation denying the occupation’s allegations that it entered a land without a people.
For his part the head of the Stop the War Coalition in Britain Christopher Nanaia pointed out the great difficulties faced by activists in solidarity with Palestine in Britain calling for their continuation and non-submission to the threats of the occupying country.
The Palestine Festival with its second enhanced version of the annual Palestine Day which was held for the fifteenth time in a row brings together Palestinian lovers their children and their supporters in one place in a family-friendly atmosphere as the festival director Adnan Hmidan pointed out raising the slogan of passion towards Palestine to focus its love in the hearts simultaneously as Hmidan mentioned invitations Some celebrate the anniversary of Valentine’s Day offering strawberries that Gaza is famous for which can divide two halves into a heart-shaped love dignity and redemption for Gaza and its people.
Jean Shelmer and her husband Jack Shelmer appreciated the Palestinian Forum honoring the award for preserving the Palestinian heritage. Jean said that despite their work in preserving the Palestinian heritage through embroidery and writing Palestinian history in it this is the first time that someone honors them.
The festival featured popular Dabke links with the Yasmine Al Sham Kids band the Fursan Dabkeh group popular and traditional food.
It is worth noting that this festival is held every two years.
