The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Gaza has condemned the Israeli airstrikes that hit the Beit Lahiya Cemetery in the northern Gaza Strip and partially damaged it.
In a press statement on Saturday the ministry labeled the Israeli targeting of the graveyard as “a flagrant violation” of the sanctity of the dead.
The ministry called on the Muslim nations and scholars to assume their responsibility and support the unarmed citizens of Gaza who have been under Israeli aggression for the fifth day in a row.
According to the Palestinian ministry of health 33 people have been killed and 147 others were injured since the beginning of the new Israeli attack launched on Gaza at dawn Tuesday.
