Thousands of Palestinians performed the dawn prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Friday despite tight restrictions imposed by the Israeli police.
The worshipers marched peacefully inside the compound following the prayer and chanted slogans vowing to protect al-Aqsa Mosque at all costs.
The Israeli police forces assaulted a number of worshipers and detained others including a woman.
Prior to the dawn prayer the Israeli police forces installed several checkpoints in the Old City of Jerusalem and tried to hinder the movement of the busses carrying Palestinians from the 1948 occupied territories to al-Aqsa Mosque.
Meanwhile Israeli forces stormed Shu’fat refugee camp in Jerusalem and clashed with Palestinian residents. No injuries were reported.
Since Wednesday four Palestinians have been killed during confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
