IOF arrests Gazan at Erez crossing

Wednesday 15-January-2020

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday arrested a Palestinian citizen at Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing north of the Gaza Strip.

Abed al-Naser Farwana head of the studies and documentation unit at the Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission said that the IOF arrested a Gaza resident identified as Walid Deeb at Erez crossing.

According to Farwana Deeb was detained at the crossing and interrogated for hours before he was transferred to an undeclared destination.

Farwana confirmed that Deeb had obtained an Israeli permit to travel to Jordan.

Farwana said that the Israeli occupation authorities use Erez crossing to harass blackmail and put pressure on the Palestinian residents of the besieged Gaza Strip. All fall in line with a collective punishment policy pursued against them.
