The Palestinian prisoner Ahmad Zahran on Monday evening decided to end his hunger strike which continued for 113 days in protest at his administrative detention.
The Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission said Zahran ended his hunger strike after reaching an agreement with the Israel Prison Service without giving details.
During his hunger strike Zahran was subjected to maltreatment arbitrary transfers and deliberate medical neglect by the Israel Prison Service which gravely affected his health condition.
Ahmad Zahran 42 a resident of Deir Abu Mash’al town near Ramallah had served many prison terms totaling 15 years in Israeli jails.
The last time he was arrested was in March 2019 and he remained in detention for several months without charge or trial. Later on 20 September 2019 he started a hunger strike to protest his administrative detention.
