The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) demolished on Wednesday a number of commercial facilities and one residential room made of sheet metal in Wadi Qaddum neighborhood in the east Jerusalem district of Silwan.
According to Wadi Hilweh Information Center bulldozers belonging to the Israeli municipality embarked on demolishing commercial facilities and one room on a plot of land in Wadi Qaddum after Israeli police forces closed nearby roads.
The Israeli municipality claimed that the structures were built with no permits.
Like in the West Bank the IOA systematically demolishes Palestinian homes and structures in east Jerusalem at the pretext of unlicensed construction while it prevents the local residents from obtaining permits or makes it difficult for them to meet construction conditions.
