The Hamas Movement has condemned the Israeli government’s approval of new settlement projects south of Nablus and north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
In a press statement on Thursday Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said the Israeli settlement expansion projects that aim at constructing 1000 new settlement units in the illegal settlements of Eli south of Nablus and establishing a new settlement outpost in Al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya town south of Nablus and in Sinjil town north of Ramallah constitute part of the Israeli Judaization plans.
“The repeated Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and their lands will escalate tension in the region” the Qassem warned calling on the international community to assume its responsibility towards ending the fascist Israeli occupation and to break its silence that encourages Israel to commit further crimes against the Palestinian people.
He stressed that the Israeli settlement expansion policy will only boost the Palestinian people’s determination to defend their lands adding that they will continue resisting the Israeli occupation until final liberation.
