The Hamas Movement has vehemently condemned the Israeli decision to seize ten thousand dunums of Palestinian lands in the West Bank cities of Salfit and Qalqilya to construct new settlement units.
In a press statement on Monday the Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said that the new Israeli settlement project aims at expanding the illegal settlement of Al-Qana and linking it to the Oranit settlement.
“The project constitutes a new act of aggression against our Palestinian people and their lands” spokesman Qassem affirmed adding that such settlement expansion projects violate all international laws and conventions.
Qassem called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and implement effective measures to prevent further Israeli settlement expansion plans.
He stressed that the Palestinian people and resistance fighters will continue confronting the Israeli settlement expansion plans until they regain their rights and lands.
Earlier on Sunday a new Israeli settlement plan aimed at seizing more than 10000 dunums of Palestinian agricultural land was revealed.
The so-called Supreme Planning Council had declared intention to seize lands in the towns of Al-Zawiya Deir Ballut Rafat and Masaha west of Salfit Governorate and Sinria in Qalqilya Governorate.
