A high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement led by head of its political bureau Ismail Haneyya met on Monday evening with Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel in Cairo.
The meeting which was attended by senior Hamas officials Saleh al-Aruri Khalid Mishaal Khalil al-Hayya and Rawhi Mushtaha was “positive and productive” according to a press release published on the Movement’s official website.
During the meeting the two sides discussed different issues of mutual interest including a number of political and regional developments the latest Israeli aggression against Gaza and the situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The Hamas leadership also reiterated its keenness on promoting mutual ties with Cairo and expressed its appreciation for Egypt’s role in supporting the Palestinian people and contributing to alleviating their suffering.
