A Palestinian citizen was detained while four others were assaulted on Saturday during a Jewish settlers’ attack to the south of the West Bank city of al-Khalil.
The Palestinian activist Usama Makhamreh reported that Salah Makhamreh 29 was detained while four citizens suffered bruises during a settlers’ attack in Masafer Yatta south of al-Khalil.
In another development Jewish settlers proceeded to raze olive saplings after storming Palestinian lands to the west of Salfit.
Local sources reported Jewish settlers destroyed 258 olive saplings that belonged to the Palestinian citizen Taysir Ahmad after raiding his land to the west of Kafr ad-Dik town.
Ahmad told WAFA news agency that he has been working on the reclamation of his 17-dunum-land for four years which cost him about 70000 shekels.
He underlined that the settlers destroyed water pipes that feed the land adding that they also razed seven trees that belong to his brother Hassan.
Moreover the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) fired live bullets and stun grenades to quell an anti-settlement march in the Maghayir al-Abid area in Masafer Yatta.
IOF soldiers detained several Palestinian citizens including WAFA driver Ahmad Gazzaz and other Palestinian journalists preventing them from covering the incident.
