IOF open fire at Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip wound local citizen

Monday 4-December-2006

Gaza – In a fresh violation of the declared truce the IOF troops stationed outside northern Gaza Strip opened their machinegun fire at Palestinian citizens north of Beit Hanun city wounding one of them.

Hospital sources identified the injured Palestinian as Hammad Abu Thurayya 21 and described his wounds as “moderate”.

The Palestinian youth according to local eyewitnesses was shepherding his sheep in that area within the boundaries of the densely populated Strip.

However Israeli aggressions on innocent Palestinians weren’t limited to the IOF troops as an Israeli settler ran over a group of Palestinian citizens waiting at the IOF-installed Hawara checkpoint south of Nablus city Sunday night wounding three of them according to eyewitnesses.

They eyewitnesses added that the vehicle bore an Israeli plate number and was driving very fast before intentionally bumping into the three victims (two form Hawara town and the third wasn’t identified yet).

Israeli occupation police arrived to the incident scene but alleged they weren’t able to catch or identify the reckless driver!

The same area has been the scene of similar incidents for the past years a few weeks ago an Israeli settler knocked down a Palestinian female studying in the Najah University.

In a related matter the IOF troops in Ramallah city raided and ransacked office of the Palestinian woman’s cultural forum in the city at dawn Saturday and wreaked havoc in it before confiscating the hard disc of the 11 computers found in the office.

Director of the office said that she filed a lawsuit against the IOF troops over the damage inflicted to her office affirming that the forum is purely a service office that has no factional or partisan affiliation.

The office extends internet services to tens of Palestinian female students and organizes training courses in a number of educational fields needed by those university students.

In Tulkarm city the IOF troops rounded up two Palestinian citizens alleging they were gearing up to carry out human bombing operations in the Israeli depth.

The two arrested Palestinian were identified as Osama Fathi and Ahmed Ta’ama both 22 years old.

The IOF troops rounded up 15 other Palestinian citizens across the West Bank alleging they were Hamas cadres.

Despite all those flagrant IOF troops’ atrocities the Israeli occupation government was alleging it was observing the declared truce. Such allegations were shrugged off by the Palestinian resistance factions that approved the truce on reciprocity basis and warned that the Palestinian patience over those aggressions will not last long.
