Member of Hamas’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk has called for reactivating the UN advisory opinion issued in 2004 by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) about the legal consequences of the construction of a wall in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In a statement on Sunday Abu Marzouk called for promoting and highlighting this opinion which was issued about 19 years ago through “reminding the world of the humanitarian crimes and political and economic violations which the Palestinian people have been exposed to as a result of this wall.”
The Hamas official stressed the need for the international community after all these years to implement this advisory opinion and obligate the Israeli occupation government to demolish the wall address the consequences of its construction and compensate the Palestinian people for all the damage and suffering that resulted from this wall.
