The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) blew up the family house of the martyr Al-Moataz Billah Salah Al-Khawaja in Nilin town west of Ramallah at dawn Tuesday.
The Israeli forces stormed the town in large numbers accompanied by 50 military vehicles and surrounded Al-Khawaja’s family house and some neighboring houses.
Additionally snipers were stationed on the roofs of nearby homes.
According to local sources the IOF ordered the residents including an elderly woman to leave their homes before the demolition began.
Violent clashes broke out in the area in protest against the Israeli demolition process. A young man was injured in his foot during the confrontations.
Al-Khawaja was killed after carrying out a shooting attack in Tel Aviv last March. His father and son were detained afterward while his family house was notified with demolition.
Various types of collective punishment such as punitive home demolitions and sweeping movement restrictions against entire areas or communities are among the policies that Israeli authorities have relied on to systematically oppress Palestinians.
