Sheikh Najeh Bakirat head of the Aqsa Academy for Science and Heritage has stressed that the Israeli occupation is waging an escalating and systematic war against Jerusalem.
In a press statement on Monday Sheikh Bakirat said that the Israeli settlement expansion plans and demolition campaigns launched in Jerusalem constitute part of the Israeli Judaization plans.
Sheikh Bakirat underlined that imposing restrictions on the Palestinian worshippers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque is an Israeli attempt to impose spatial and temporal division on the Mosque in order to change its Islamic identity.
He affirmed that holding weekly Cabinet meetings by the Israeli government inside tunnels under Al-Aqsa Mosque constitutes “a painful blow” to the Arab and Muslim world stressing that the continued Palestinian presence at the Mosque will foil Israeli Judaization plans.
Earlier today scores of extremist Jewish settlers desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem under tight police protection while the Israeli authorities carried out excavation operations in the Buraq Square to the west of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
