An Israeli raid campaign was carried out at dawn Tuesday in different parts of the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem.
55 Palestinians were reportedly detained during the raids mainly ex-prisoners and members of Hamas Movement.
At least two dozen people were detained in al-Khalil. 30 Gazan workers who were expelled from their work places within the Green Line were also among those detained.
Al-Khalil’s detainees included Speaker of the Legislative Council Dr. Aziz Dweik MP Dr. Maher Badr MP Sheikh Jamal Al-Natsheh MP Sheikh Nizar Ramadan MP Dr. Bassem Al-Zaarir and former Minister Issa Al-Jaabari.
16 others were arrested in Bethlehem mostly ex-prisoners while two youths were arrested in Nablus.
The growing Israeli arrest campaigns in the West Bank came in a failed attempt to abort any anticipated rallies in support of the Gaza Strip.
According to the health ministry 61 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since October 7 including 14 children and women.
