The Palestinian health ministry has warned that the growing shortage of medicines threatens the lives of more than 9000 cancer patients in the Gaza Strip stressing the need for urgent action to save their lives before it is too late.
Subhi Sukaik Director General of Turkish Friendship Hospital and Gaza Cancer Center told a news conference held by the health ministry on Monday in Gaza City that the lack of diagnostic and treatment capabilities in Gaza threatens the lives of cancer patients whose number is on the rise.
Sukaik explained that the cancer patients in Gaza also suffer greatly regarding medical referrals due to the Israeli occupation authority’s refusal to allow them to travel to receive medical treatment.
He called on the world’s free people and the international medical organizations to intervene urgently to save the lives of cancer patients in Gaza.
