PCPA condemns Dutch authorities for detaining Abu Rashed

Monday 28-August-2023

The Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad (PCPA) has condemned the judicial authorities in the Netherlands for arresting Amin Abu Rashed head of the Conference of Palestinians in Europe.

In a press statement on Monday the PCPA underlined that Abu Rashed has been detained for more than two months stressing that he needs special medical care.

“Arresting Abu Rashed constitutes part of targeting the Palestinian people and defenders of the Palestinian rights” the PCPA affirmed calling for releasing Abu Rashed immediately.

Last Thursday Palestinian and Dutch activists launched a campaign that called for the release of Abu Rashed pointing out that he has been detained for 60 days.

Meanwhile Abu Rashed’s family and lawyers affirmed that his health condition is deteriorating adding that the Dutch authorities continue to detain him based on false Israeli claims and pressure.

Abu Rashed who was detained last June is a Palestinian-Dutch citizen who supports the Palestinian people inside Palestine and in the diaspora.
