Salama Maarouf head of the government media office in Gaza said that the Israeli occupation army intensified its attacks last night on different areas of the Gaza Strip bombing dozens of apartment buildings houses mosques schools used as shelters and public facilities.
&ldquoContrary to the occupation’s claims that it targeted the capabilities of the resistance its army committed massacres in the last hours against 15 families after directly bombing their homes without warning killing and injuring dozens mostly women and children&rdquo Maarouf affirmed in a statement on Monday.
The Palestinian official held the occupation state responsible for the massacres it had committed against those civilians stressing that its current aggression worsened the dire humanitarian situation in the besieged Gaza Strip.
He urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards Gaza in light of the current difficult situation.
In a related context the health ministry said that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza climbed to 560 martyrs including 91 children and 61 women while over 2900 citizens including 244 children and 151 women were injured.
The numbers of casualties are likely to rise as the Israeli army continues to bombard the densely-populated coastal enclave.
&ldquoThe growing Israeli aggression against Gaza increased the complexity of the dire health situation as we already suffer from a large shortage of medicines medical consumables and fuel a result of the Israeli siege&rdquo the health ministry said.
&ldquoThe continued electricity crisis is posing a challenge to the health system and a threat to the lives of hundreds of wounded and sick people&rdquo the ministry added.
