The Palestinian factions called on Egypt to open the Rafah land crossing transport the wounded bring humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and prevent “the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe and genocidal war.”
The factions released a joint statement saying “We call on our brothers in the Arab Republic of Egypt to open the Rafah crossing immediately transport the wounded bring in humanitarian aid and save the Gaza Strip from the humanitarian catastrophe and genocidal war.”
For his part the spokesman for the Ministry of Interior and National Security Iyad Al-Buzom called on Egypt to take a historic decision and open the Rafah crossing.
Al-Buzom said in the press conference he held in the courtyard of Al-Shifa Hospital on Sunday: “The occupation continues its criminal aggression against our people for the twenty-third day and imposes a complex siege on the Gaza Strip by isolating it from the world and targeting all aspects of human life.”
He emphasized that Israel continues to cut off fuel medicine and food supplies as well as electricity and drinking water.
This is the most horrifying and brutal war that has surpassed both the Holocaust and Nazi actions the spokesman added.
The Rafah border crossing the sole passageway between Gaza and Egypt remains sealed to both wounded and humanitarian aid.
