Member of Hamas Political Bureau Khalil Al-Hayya said that the Israeli occupation authority has been evasive about reaching a prisoner exchange deal in order to continue its hideous aggression against the people of the Gaza Strip.
Speaking to Al Jazeera last night Al-Hayya affirmed that Hamas had offered to release the foreigners children and women detained by the Movement but Israel insisted on releasing only the Israelis.
“We are ready at any given time to release the women children and foreigners in exchange for our women and children who are held captive in Israeli prisons within a humanitarian truce in which aid is brought into all parts of the Gaza Strip” he added.
As for the negotiations on the exchange of prisoners Al-Hayya elaborated that Qatar with Egyptian partnership has been leading for three weeks serious negotiations but Israel has been resubmitting proposals every time a draft agreement was approved revealing Israel’s refusal to release foreigners along with Israeli captives.
Al-Hayya pointed out that Israel had withdrawn from an agreement made on Thursday by Qatari mediation and under the Egyptian and American supervision to enforce a ceasefire in which five Israeli captives would be released daily in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
He added that Israel has been procrastinating by not concluding a humanitarian truce during which relief and assistance would be brought into all areas of the Gaza Strip without exception and in doing so it is lying to the world and its people as it has retreated three times as the parties were “just moments away” from concluding the agreement.
He explained that some forms of Israeli procrastination included demanding lists of names of prisoners insisting on separating Israelis from foreigners withdrawing from approving mechanisms for implementing what was agreed upon and submitting new proposals after approving previous draft agreements.
The Hamas official opines that the Israeli occupation authority does not want to reach an agreement for just one goal; that is the continuation of killing aggression and destruction.
“Israel wishes to kill all its prisoners detained in Gaza as happened with the Israeli woman whose death was revealed by Al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas in a previous airstrike” he said.
Al-Hayya added that Israel had withdrawn from an agreement that had been reached on Thursday to enter 500 trucks every day including fuel trucks as it announced at dawn on Saturday that it did not approve the entry of more than 200 aid trucks and four fuel trucks into the besieged enclave.
The Hamas official denounced targeting the headquarters of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza located on the shore of the Gaza Sea during the Israeli ground incursion into the Strip.
He called on the Israeli occupation to stop its evasion to gain more time and to fulfill the requirements agreed upon and to allow the entry of humanitarian aid to all areas of the Gaza Strip without exception stressing Hamas’s determination and readiness to conduct the exchange agreement.
Al-Hayya said that all observers and rational people have the right to be laugh at the lie of the Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari on the allegations claiming that the Palestinian resistance uses hospitals for military purposes pointing out that Al-Rantisi Hospital was besieged by Israeli army’s tanks before it was forcibly evacuated.
