The armed wing of Hamas Movement Al-Qassam Brigades has revealed that its fighters thwarted an attempt by the Israeli occupation army to carry out an infiltration operation from the sea on the coast of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip forcing it to retreat and leave behind its ammunition.
A statement released by the Brigades’ media revealed that its fighters were able to “discover the attempt” and confront the invading force.
The Brigades’ statement disclosed that the Israeli occupation forces had to call in airstrikes to secure their escape from Rafah’s beach leaving behind munition that had been unloaded during the failed attempt.
Local sources confirmed the outbreak of fierce clashes at dawn today and shelling on the coast of the southern Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian resistance led by Al-Qassam Brigades had earlier confronted limited incursion attempts into central and northern Gaza Strip.
