Marah Dhair the daughter of the distinguished teacher and professor Hassan Shehdeh developed an early passion for journalism and aspired to launch her own news from her home in Khirbet Al-Adas in Rafah in southernmost Gaza Strip to share the voice of the hidden truth with the world.
Two years ago she was ranked first in her class at the Islamic University’s Department of Journalism and Media.
However Marah’s voice was silenced in an Israeli air raid that targeted her three-story family house.
Marah was murdered at the age of 25 along with her parents sisters brothers and nephews on October 19.
“They Are Not Numbers” is a series of stories honoring Palestinian victims who were killed in the ongoing Israeli aggression.
Since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7 more than 40000 people have been killed wounded or reported missing under the rubble.
